
Tsinat Semagn (she/her) is a Research Assistant with the EqCC Hub. Tsinat recently graduated with her Master of Science in Global Health and was trained as a Registered Nurse at McMaster University. She now supports diverse research projects amplifying the voices of people in the community who have lived experience with various health and social issues. She is especially passionate about migrant health and parent and child well-being, and her Master’s thesis explored the impact of transnational family separation on the psychosocial well-being of Black African migrant parents in Ontario, with a focus on Hamilton. Outside of working with the EqCC Hub, Tsinat enjoys writing about global humanitarian issues, mentoring Black undergraduate nursing students, and serving her faith community.
